Job Summary:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key executive responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. They will provide strategic financial guidance, drive financial planning and analysis, manage financial operations, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. The CFO will collaborate closely with the CEO and other senior leaders to support the organization's overall growth, profitability, and financial stability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic financial plans and budgets.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to support decision-making processes.
- Monitor and evaluate financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to executive management and stakeholders.
2. Financial Operations Management:
- Oversee the organization's accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets, manage risk, and ensure compliance with accounting principles and policies.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies to optimize financial resources.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior management team in developing and executing the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives, investments, mergers and acquisitions, and other business opportunities.
- Assess and mitigate financial risks, adapting strategies to changing market conditions.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting financial operations.
4. Team Management and Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and promote professional development opportunities.
- Ensure the team's adherence to ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is preferred.
2. Experience:
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership capacity.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated success in driving financial performance and achieving business objectives.
- Experience in a regulated industry or publicly traded company is desirable.
3. Skills:
- Excellent financial acumen, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights to support decision-making.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to diverse stakeholders.
